The 3-flute chipbreaker profile — also known as a serrated or castle rougher — breaks chips into shorter segments as it cuts, which dramatically reduces cutting forces, heat, and vibration compared to a standard spiral. That lets you run higher feed rates and deeper single-pass depths than you'd otherwise attempt.
