Description
A solid carbide 5/32" downshear spiral bit built for cuts where top surface quality is non-negotiable. The downward chip direction presses fibers into the workpiece during cutting rather than lifting them, which eliminates the tearout and fraying that upshear bits can leave on the top face of veneered panels, laminates, and melamine. It's the right choice any time you're routing a finished top surface that will be visible in the final product. Worth noting: reduced chip clearance compared to upshear means you'll want to dial in your feeds and speeds to avoid heat buildup, especially in harder materials. The plunge end allows direct workpiece entry for pocketing and through-cuts. It measures 3/4" cut length, 2-1/2" overall length, 1/4" shank. Made in the USA by Centurion Tools LLC.
