Description
When standard carbide isn't enough, the High-Performance grade is. This 3/8" Compression HP Mortise router bit uses a premium carbide substrate with finer grain structure and higher binder content than standard grades, delivering extended edge retention and better wear resistance in high-cycle production applications. The short .200" upshear bottom zone cleans the groove floor cleanly, while the longer downshear upper zone controls tearout on the top face — the geometry purpose-built for dadoes, blind slots, and through-grooves where both cut faces are visible. FEM construction means direct plunge entry with no pre-drilled start hole, simplifying programming and reducing cycle time. In a production environment running hundreds of dadoes a day in melamine or veneered plywood, the HP grade holds its edge longer and keeps edge quality consistent well past the point where a standard bit starts to degrade.
